Have you ever wondered why your cat licks you? Or maybe what causes your kitty to purr? It can often be the case that we just assume it a sign of affection, as these actions are similar to kissing, however, the real reason behind your pet’s intentions is a little different.
Hug your Hound Day officially took place on the second Sunday of September – which fell on 11th September this year. While the day itself was not about hugging as many dogs as possible – although, that does sound appealing – it was a day that is about experiencing life with your dog and making the most of developing your bond. Treating your pooch to engraved dog tags, taking your furry friend on a trip or giving them a much-needed make-over are all ways to do this.
For many pet owners, having a fur baby is akin to having children, which means having your pet fall ill can be devastating. Sustaining injuries can be just as traumatic, even more so because we aren’t always sure of what happened in order to prevent it from happening again. What we can do, though, is do what we can to keep our pets happy, healthy and safe. Pet Tags have put together some top tips for doing so in the UK. Continue reading
If your best friend is small and furry, has four legs and loves to go for walkies, then you’re not alone. Here in the UK, the dog – also known as man’s best friend, has been by our sides for as long as we can remember, and this August we celebrate National Dog Day in all its glory!
The divide between cat and dog lovers seems to be growing smaller with every passing day – because let’s face it; our furry friends are too adorable to not give them a cuddle.
This month, we celebrate not one, not two, but three days that are dedicated to our feline friends. We’ve got International Cat Day, Black Cat Appreciation Day, and Take your Cat to the Vet Day – all in August.
Our pets are much like children, in that we love and protect them at all times, and they need almost constant attention and supervision. Unlike children, pets can’t communicate with us verbally (in a way that we fully understand, anyway) which means that when accidents do happen, we often don’t know about them until after they happen.
Friday, June 24th is almost upon us once more – and you all know what that means – it’s National Take Your Dog to Work Day! It’s one of our favourite days of the year, and we know plenty of you will be in agreement with us, too. So, why not put it to your boss and what happens? You never know, you might start a new annual – or even monthly – tradition in your place of work.
Now well into the midst of spring, we can finally say that BBQ season is right around the corner – and it’s about time, too! Who can resist some freshly barbequed burgers, a fresh potato salad and some cold drinks with friends, families and loved one? Unfortunately, in this case, we don’t mean our pets when it comes to loved ones! Not only is the food far too rich for them, but there will be plenty of dangers around for them, too.
